Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We try to do business with clients who are twenty-five years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. On the other hand, depending on your needs, whenever possible, we try to be flexible.
If you are younger than twenty-five, consider contacting your insurer to find out if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Can you accommodate adults who have children?
Yes! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop camping vehicles you would need to climb up a small ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we offer an extra camping tent with every package which you may put up on the ground beside your camping truck. This may be much more comfortable for both you and your little ones.
What is the maximum capacity of your vehicles?
The camping trucks fit three individuals maximum, although if there are more in your group, we do provide an extra camping tent, too. With this, we are able to accommodate about five people. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Are you offering surfboards?
Certainly, our company offers both surfboards & boogie boards and fins upon request for a small fee. Just tell us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a guide or perhaps a map with the greatest beaches & hiking trails to explore on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to see & camp out on Kauai.
Best Spots For Camping Out On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I head to any beach front for camping?
You could drive up to any beach, however, you should only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We’ll give you a list of the top locations to explore and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to go to designated camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted on the island of Kauai. You can only go camping in designated areas with a current camping permit. The charge is roughly $3 per night stay in the majority of Kauai county parks, but private camping grounds may be a little more. One particular advantage of these camping grounds is that you have complete access to facilities, like showers, washrooms & picnic tables. Please keep in mind that if you choose to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to organize your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may secure your permits online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you decide to stay at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you may obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
Non-residents must pay 3 dollars per night in advance. Payment methods accepted with this application are cashier’s checks and also money orders. Nevertheless, you don’t have to book your camping licenses prior to your arrival. You could also obtain them at the different permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
Whether you decide to stay at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to camp at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite a while to receive your permits. Permits can be obtained at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued on the spot.
