Are there any age limits to rent from you?

We prefer to work with clients who are actually 25 years and older due to our insurance coverage restrictions. Having said that, based on your needs, whenever we can, we strive to be flexible.

If you are younger than 25 years, consider checking in with your insurance company to see if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.

Are your rooftop tents family friendly?

Certainly! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop camping vehicles you’ll have to climb up one small ladder. If this is an issue, we also provide an additional camping tent with every package which you may put up on the ground. This may be more suitable for you as well as your children.

What is the maximum capacity of your camping trucks?

We are able to fit three individuals maximum, though if there are more in your group, we do provide an additional tent, too. With this, we can easily accommodate as much as 5 individuals. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.

What about surfboards?

Can I go to any beach front for camping?

You may go to any beach, nevertheless, you can only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the top places to visit and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.

Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to go to official camping grounds? If so, what is the charge?

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?

It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping license prior to your trip. For most private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits on the internet and also in person in the designated office.

If you decide to camp at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.

Non-residents must pay 3 dollars per night up-front. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are cashier’s checks and money orders. But it is not necessary to book your camping licenses prior to your arrival. You can also obtain them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.

How much time will it take to obtain the camping permits?

Whether you decide to go to a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to go to a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to receive your permits. You may choose to receive your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the different permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them immediately.
