FAQs
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with customers who are 25 years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. Nevertheless, based upon your needs, whenever possible, we always try to be accommodating.
In case you are younger than 25 years, consider contacting your insurer to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tents kids friendly?
Of course! Please note that with our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb up one small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we provide an additional tent with each package which you may put up on the ground. This may be more convenient for both you and your young ones.
How many individuals can your camping vehicles accommodate?
We are able to fit 3 individuals at most, although if there are more in your group, we do offer an additional camping tent, too. With this, we are able to accommodate up to five individuals. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Do you have surfboards?
Certainly, we provide surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins on request for a fee. Simply let us know up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a travel guide or even a map with the greatest beaches and hiking trails to check out on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to see & camp out on Kauai.
Greatest Places For Camping Out On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I visit any beach for camping?
You could drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you should only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard procedure. We will supply you with a list of the top locations to explore and also to camp in. Please note that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we just able to visit designated camping sites? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You should only go camping in specified areas with secured camping permits. The fee is about $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, though private campsites could be a little more. The good thing about these campgrounds is that you will have complete access to amenities, like washrooms, showers and picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you opt to camp on the county campsites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your licenses online and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you decide to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you may obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
In advance, the costs are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this particular application are money orders & cashier’s checks. However, it is not necessary to book your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You may also get them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How long will it take to obtain the camping permits?
If you decide to camp at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to camp at a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to receive your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are given right away.
