Below are Some Commonly Asked Questions
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with clients who are actually 25 years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your situation, whenever we can, we always strive to be accommodating.
If you are below twenty-five, try contacting your insurance provider to see if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Could you accommodate adults who have kids?
Indeed! Please note that using our rooftop campers you would need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we also provide an additional tent with each of our packages which you may put up on the ground next to your camper vehicle. This can be more convenient for both you and your children.
What is the max. capacity of your trucks?
Our camping vehicles sleep three people at most, although in case there are more in your party, we do have an additional camping tent, as well. With this, we can easily fit about five people. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Absolutely yes, we provide surfboards & boogie boards and also fins on request for a small fee. Simply inform us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guidebook or even a map with the best places to visit on Kauai?
Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to visit & go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to go to any beach front for camping?
You could go to any beach, however, you should only set up your camp in official camping grounds. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We’ll provide you with a list of the best locations to visit and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or can we just visit designated camping sites? If so, what is the charge?
No, wild camping is not allowed on the island of Kauai. You should only go camping in specified locations with a current camping permit. The charge is approximately $3 per night stay in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private campsites may be a little more. One particular advantage of these camping grounds is that you have full access to facilities, like showers, restrooms & picnic dining tables. Please remember that if you decide to camp on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping license prior to your arrival. For the majority of private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits on the internet and also in person in the designated office.
If you choose to stay at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you can request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents have to pay 3 dollars per night beforehand. Payment methods accepted with this application are money orders & cashier’s checks. However, you don’t have to reserve your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You can also obtain them at the different permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How long does it take to get the camping permits?
Whether you decide to stay at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to camp at a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite a while to obtain your permits. Permits can be bought at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued on-the-spot.
