Below are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We try to do business with clients who are actually twenty-five years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. Nevertheless, based upon your needs, whenever possible, we try to be flexible.
If you are younger than 25 years, try checking with your insurer to determine if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tents family friendly?
Indeed! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop campers you would need to climb a little ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we offer an additional tent with each of our packages which you may set up on the ground. This can be much more comfortable for both you and your kids.
How many people can your camper vehicles accommodate?
We could accommodate 3 individuals maximum, though if there are more within your party, we do provide an extra camping tent, too. With this, we are able to fit up to 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards and also fins on request for a fee. Simply inform us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide or a map with the greatest beaches & hiking trails to visit on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to check out and go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Information About Camping Permits
Can I head to any beach front to camp?
You could drive up to any beach, but you can only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We’ll give you a list of the best locations to explore and also to go camping. Please remember that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or can we only visit official camping grounds? If so, what is the charge?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You should only go camping in official areas with a valid camping permit. The associated fee is about $3 per night in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a bit more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you have complete access to facilities, including showers, bathrooms and picnic dining tables. Please be aware that if you opt to go camping on the county campsites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to obtain your Kauai camping permits before your trip. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you can get your licenses online and also in person in the respective office.
If you choose to camp at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Up-front, the costs are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks as well as money orders. Nevertheless, it’s not absolutely necessary to book your camping permits prior to your planned arrival. You may also get them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.
How long will it take to get the camping permits?
No matter if you choose to camp at a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to camp at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to get your permits. You might get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the different permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them immediately.
