Below are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any age restrictions to rent from you?
We try to work with clients who are 25 years and above because of our insurance policy restrictions. However, based on your situation, whenever we can, we always try to be accommodating.
In case you are below twenty-five, try checking in with your insurance provider to find out whether you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your rooftop tents kids friendly?
Yes! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop campers you will need to climb up one small ladder. If this is a concern, we also provide an additional tent with each package which you could put up on the ground beside your camping vehicle. This could be more convenient for you and also your young children.
How many people can your camper vehicles fit?
Our camper trucks fit 3 people maximum, though in case there are more within your party, we do provide an additional camping tent, as well. With this, we are able to allow for as much as five individuals. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Yes, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards and fins upon request for a fee. Just tell us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guide or a map with the greatest places to visit on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to visit & go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Specifics About Camping Permits
Can I go to any beach front to camp?
You could go to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the best locations to check out and also to go camping. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or are we only able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You can only go camping in specific areas with a valid camping permit. The charge is roughly $3 per night stay in most Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a little more. The good thing about these campsites is that you will have total access to facilities, including showers, bathrooms & picnic kitchen tables. Please remember that if you decide to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It’s a better to get your Kauai camping permits before your trip. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits online and also in person in the designated office.
If you opt to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you may obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Up-front, the charges are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. Nevertheless, you don’t have to reserve your camping permits prior to your arrival. You could also obtain them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
Whether you choose to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite some time to obtain your permits. Permits can be obtained at the license offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are given on-the-spot.
