Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum age to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with customers who are twenty-five years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your situation, whenever we can, we always try to be accommodating.
In case you are younger than twenty-five, try contacting your insurance company to find out whether you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Could you accommodate families with children?
Indeed! Please note that using our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb up a small ladder. If this is a problem, we also offer an additional tent with each of our packages which you could put up on the ground. This can be more suitable for both you and your young ones.
What is the max. capacity of your vehicles?
We could accommodate 3 individuals at most, though in case there are more in your party, we do provide an extra tent, too. With this, we can easily fit about five people. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Are you offering surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers both surfboards & boogie boards and fins on request for a fee. Just inform us in advance if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guide or a map with the nicest beaches and hiking trails to visit on Kauai?
Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to visit and go camping on Kauai.
Perfect Spots For Camping On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I visit any beach front to camp?
You may drive up to any beach, but you can only set up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the greatest places to visit and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we just able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted in Kauai. You can only camp in specified locations with secured camping permits. The fee is around $3 per night in most Kauai county parks, though private campgrounds may be a little more. One advantage of these campsites is that you will have complete access to facilities, like washrooms, showers & picnic dining tables. Please note that if you decide to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping permits prior to your arrival. For the majority of private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may secure your licenses online and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you choose to stay at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents must pay three dollars per night beforehand. Payment methods accepted with this application are money orders & cashier’s checks. But you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses prior to your planned arrival. You could also obtain them at the different permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
How long does it take to get the camping permits?
Whether you decide to go to a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite a while to get your permits. You might get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them immediately.
