FAQs
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with customers who are twenty-five years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. Having said that, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we try to be accommodating.
If you are younger than twenty-five, consider contacting your insurance provider to determine if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then contact us.
Are your roof top tent camping vehicles kids friendly?
Certainly! Please keep in mind that using our rooftop campers you will need to climb one small ladder. If this is a concern, we also provide an additional tent with all of our packages which you may put up on the ground next to your camping truck. This could be more convenient for both you and your little ones.
What is the max. capacity of your trucks?
Our camping vehicles sleep 3 individuals at most, although in case there are more in your group, we do offer an additional tent, as well. With this, we can easily accommodate up to 5 people. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Are you offering surfboards?
Certainly, we provide both surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a fee. Just inform us up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a guidebook or perhaps a map with the best areas to visit on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to check out and camp out on Kauai.
Finest Places For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Information Regarding Camping Permits
Am I able to go to any beach front for camping?
You could go to any beach, nevertheless, you can only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual practice. We will supply you with a list of the top locations to visit and to go camping. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or can we just go to designated camping grounds? If so, what is the fee?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You can only go camping in specified areas with a valid camping permit. The charge is roughly $3 per night in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a bit more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you have complete access to facilities, such as restrooms, showers & picnic kitchen tables. Please note that if you choose to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It’s a better to get your Kauai camping permits prior to your journey. For the majority of private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you can get your permits online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you opt to camp at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
Non-residents must pay three dollars per night beforehand. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are cashier’s checks as well as money orders. But it is not necessary to book your camping permits prior to your arrival. You may also obtain them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How much time does it take to obtain the camping permits?
No matter if you choose to go to a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to obtain your permits. Permits can be obtained at the permit offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are issued on the spot.
