FAQs
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with clients who are actually twenty-five years and above because of our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we try to be flexible.
If you are below twenty-five, consider checking in with your insurer to find out whether you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Are your roof top tents family friendly?
Of course! Please note that with our rooftop camping vehicles you would need to climb a little ladder. If this is an issue, we offer an extra camping tent with all of our packages which you may set up on the ground. This could be more comfortable for both you and your little ones.
How many individuals can your camper trucks fit?
We could accommodate three individuals maximum, though if there are more in your group, we do offer an extra camping tent, too. With this, we can easily fit up to five individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Yes, we offer surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Just inform us in advance if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a guide book or even a map with the best places to visit on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to see and go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to head to any beach front for camping?
You may drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the top places to visit and to go camping. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or are we only able to visit official camping sites? If so, what is the cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You should only camp in designated locations with a valid camping permit. The associated fee is around $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, though private camping grounds could be a little more. One particular advantage of these campsites is that you have total access to amenities, like showers, washrooms and picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you decide to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.
Can you recommend any Kauai camp sites where I can set up the roof top tent?

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping permits prior to your arrival. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may get your licenses online and also in person in the designated office.
If you opt to camp at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
In advance, the fees are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this application are bank checks and also money orders. However, you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses prior to your planned arrival. You could also get them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How long will it take to obtain the camping permits?
Whether you decide to camp at a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite some time to get your permits. You might obtain your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them on the spot.
