Below are Some Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the minimum age for renting from you?
We prefer to do business with clients who are twenty-five years and above because of our insurance coverage restrictions. But, based upon your circumstances, whenever possible, we always try to be flexible.
In case you are below twenty-five, consider checking in with your insurer to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Are your roof top tent camper vehicles kids friendly?
Certainly! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop camping vehicles you would need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we offer an additional camping tent with each of our packages which you can set up on the ground next to the camping vehicle. This could be more convenient for both you as well as your young children.
How many individuals can your camper trucks fit?
Our roof top tent camping vehicles sleep three people at most, though if there are more within your party, we do provide an additional camping tent, too. With this, we are able to allow for about 5 individuals. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Do you offer surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards and fins upon request for a small fee. Simply let us know up-front if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we receive a guide book or perhaps a map with the best areas to visit on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to check out and camp out on Kauai.
Perfect Locations For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I go to any beach front for camping?
You may go to any beach, nevertheless, you can only put up your camp in official camping grounds. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We’ll give you a list of the ideal places to explore and to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or are we just able to visit official camping sites? If so, how much is the fee?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted on the island of Kauai. You may only go camping in designated areas with secured camping permits. The charge is around $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, but private campgrounds could be a little more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you will have total access to facilities, such as washrooms, showers and picnic kitchen tables. Please note that if you decide to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to obtain your Kauai camping permits prior to your arrival. For the majority of private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your licenses on the internet and also in person in the designated office.
If you decide to stay at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents must pay 3 dollars per night in advance. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. But it’s not necessary to reserve your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You may also get them at the various permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
How much time will it take to get the camping permits?
If you decide to stay at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to camp at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite a while to obtain your permits. Permits can be bought at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are given on-the-spot.
