Is there an age requirement to rent from you?

We try to work with clients who are 25 years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. But, based on your needs, whenever we can, we always strive to be flexible.

In case you are younger than 25 years, consider contacting your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.

Are your roof top tent campers family friendly?

Certainly! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb up a little ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we provide an additional tent with every package which you could put up on the ground next to the camping vehicle. This could be more convenient for both you and your children.

How many individuals can your camper vehicles fit?

We can accommodate 3 individuals maximum, though in case there are more in your party, we do have an additional tent, as well. With this, we can easily accommodate about five people. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.

Can you provide surfboards?

Yes, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards and also fins on request for a fee. Just inform us up-front if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.

Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to see & go camping on Kauai.

Am I able to visit any beach front for camping?

You can go to any beach, but you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the ideal locations to visit and also to go camping. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.

Are we allowed to camp in the wild or can we just visit designated camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?

No, wild camping isn’t permitted on the island of Kauai. You may only go camping in specific locations with a current camping permit. The fee is about $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private campsites could be a little more. One particular advantage of these camping grounds is that you will have full access to facilities, such as showers, washrooms and picnic dining tables. Please be aware that if you opt to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?

It is definitely a better to organize your Kauai camping permits prior to your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can get your licenses online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.

If you opt to stay at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.

Non-residents must pay three dollars per night up-front. Accepted payment methods with this application are money orders & cashier’s checks. But you don’t necessarily have to book your camping permits prior to your arrival. You can also obtain them at the different permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.

How much time will it take to obtain the camping permits?

Whether you choose to go to a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to stay at a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite some time to get your permits. You might receive your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them on the spot.
