FAQs
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We try to work with customers who are actually twenty-five years and above because of our insurance policy restrictions. Nevertheless, based on your situation, whenever possible, we always strive to be flexible.
In case you are below 25 years, consider checking in with your insurance company to find out whether you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then contact us.
Are your roof top tent campers kids friendly?
Of course! Please note that using our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb up one small ladder. If this is a concern, we offer an additional camping tent with all of our packages which you can easily put up on the ground. This may be much more comfortable for both you and also your young children.
What is the maximum capacity of your trucks?
The camper vehicles sleep 3 individuals maximum, although in case there are more in your group, we do provide an additional camping tent, too. With this, we are able to accommodate about five individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Yes, our company offers surfboards & boogie boards and fins upon request for a fee. Simply let us know beforehand if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or a map with the best beaches & hiking trails to visit on Kauai?
Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to check out and camp out on Kauai.
Ideal Locations For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Information Regarding Camping Permits
Can I head to any beach to camp?
You may go to any beach, however, you can only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual procedure. We’ll supply you with a list of the ideal places to visit and to camp in. Please remember that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or can we only go to official camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You may only go camping in designated areas with a valid camping permit. The fee is roughly $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, though private campgrounds could be a little more. The good thing about these campsites is that you will have full access to amenities, such as showers, bathrooms and picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you decide to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to set up the ground tent.

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping permits prior to your trip. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits on the internet and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you decide to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you may ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Up-front, the charges are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this particular application are money orders & cashier’s checks. Nevertheless, you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses before your arrival. You may also get them at the different permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
If you decide to stay at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite some time to receive your permits. You might obtain your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them on the spot.
