FAQs
What’s the minimum age for renting from you?
We prefer to do business with clients who are 25 years and above because of our insurance coverage restrictions. However, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we try to be flexible.
If you are below 25 years, try contacting your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tents family friendly?
Yes! Please note that using our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb up a little ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we provide an additional camping tent with all of our packages which you could put up on the ground next to your camper truck. This could be much more comfortable for you as well as your children.
What is the max. capacity of your trucks?
We can accommodate three people maximum, although if there are more within your party, we do provide an extra tent, as well. With this, we are able to allow for up to five individuals. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Are you offering surfboards?
Absolutely yes, we offer surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Simply let us know beforehand if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we receive a guide book or even a map with the greatest beaches & hiking trails to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to visit and camp out on Kauai.
Greatest Locations For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Information About Camping Permits
Can I visit any beach to camp?
You could go to any beach, nevertheless, you can only set up your camp in designated camping grounds. Here on Kauai, this is the usual practice. We will give you a list of the best places to check out and also to camp in. Please remember that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we just able to go to designated camping sites? If so, how much is the charge?
No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You can only go camping in official areas with secured camping permits. The associated fee is roughly $3 per night in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private camp sites may be a little more. The good thing about these campsites is that you have full access to amenities, like washrooms, showers and picnic dining tables. Please remember that if you decide to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping permits prior to your trip. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your licenses on the internet and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you choose to camp at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents need to pay three dollars per night up-front. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. Nevertheless, it’s not absolutely necessary to book your camping licenses prior to your planned arrival. You could also get them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
No matter if you choose to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to obtain your permits. You might get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them immediately.
