Are there any age restrictions to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with clients who are actually twenty-five years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we try to be flexible.
If you are below twenty-five, consider contacting your insurance company to determine if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your rooftop tents kids friendly?
Yes! Please note that with our rooftop campers you will need to climb up a small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we provide an extra camping tent with each of our packages which you may put up on the ground. This can be more suitable for you and also your little ones.
What is the maximum capacity of your vehicles?
We are able to accommodate three individuals maximum, though if there are more in your party, we do have an extra camping tent, too. With this, we can easily accommodate as much as 5 individuals. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Certainly, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a fee. Just inform us in advance if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a guide book or a map with the greatest hiking trails and beaches to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to check out and go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Details About Camping Permits
Am I able to head to any beach to camp?
You can drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual practice. We will give you a list of the best places to visit and also to go camping. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or are we just able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You can only camp in specific locations with secured camping permits. The associated fee is around $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds could be a bit more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you have complete access to amenities, such as showers, washrooms & picnic tables. Please remember that if you opt to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to organize your Kauai camping permits prior to your arrival. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you choose to stay at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents need to pay three dollars per night in advance. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. Nevertheless, you don’t have to reserve your camping permits prior to your arrival. You could also get them at the designated permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
How much time does it take to get the camping permits?
Whether you decide to stay at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to camp at a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite some time to obtain your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued on the spot.

Our Happy Clients!
Exploring Kauai with a rooftop camper is a fun and unique way to explore this beautiful island! Our family of 4 spent 12 fabulous days exploring and camping. The extra tent with the rooftop provided plenty of space for us…we had an amazing time! All communication with Jonathan and Jamie was smooth and easy. They are lovely people who genuinely want to provide a great experience.
Jamie and Jonathan were excellent hosts! Even though they were on vacation, Jonathan made all accommodations very easy and helped us with every step. Note: if you are under 25, make sure to let them know to make sure you are covered by insurance! Jonathan helped us work it out and we had a great time
Los Angeles, CA
Jamie and Jonathan are by far the very best experience with Airbnb we have ever had. Truly generous human beings with big hearts. They provided wonderful suggestions, amenities, and a wonderful 5 star experience. We will certainly rent again. For our first experience in Hawaii, they made sure it was second to none. If you’re coming to Hawaii to truly experience nature and looking for a ‘no nonsense’ and easy process to explore the island the way it was meant to be, you could not attain better hosts.
We had such an amazing trip with Jamie’s camper! Jamie and Jonathan were both so kind and took their time to explain to us the ins and out of our camper. Communication was easy and the beaches they recommend we visit were like paradise! Will rent again from them when we come back for sure!
The BEST way to experience the beautiful garden island! Not only a great service–transportation doubling as your lodging–but wonderful and warm hosts. Jonathan and Jamie were so kind and helpful. An absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai–thank you both!
