FAQs
What is the minimum age to rent from you?
We try to do business with clients who are actually 25 years and above due to our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your circumstances, whenever possible, we strive to be flexible.
In case you are below 25 years, try checking with your insurance provider to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your rooftop tents family friendly?
Indeed! Please note that with our rooftop campers you would need to climb one small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we offer an additional camping tent with every package which you could put up on the ground beside the camping vehicle. This could be much more comfortable for both you and your little ones.
How many people can your camping vehicles accommodate?
We are able to fit 3 individuals at most, though if there are more in your party, we do provide an extra tent, too. With this, we can easily allow for up to five people. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Just inform us up-front if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guidebook or perhaps a map with the greatest areas to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to check out & go camping on Kauai.
Perfect Locations For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I head to any beach front for camping?
You may go to any beach, however, you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual practice. We will supply you with a list of the best places to explore and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or can we just go to designated camping grounds? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed on the island of Kauai. You should only go camping in official areas with a valid camping permit. The fee is roughly $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, but private camp sites may be a bit more. One particular advantage of these camping grounds is that you will have total access to facilities, like bathrooms, showers and picnic dining tables. Please note that if you decide to camp on the county campsites, you are only permitted to set up the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It is a good idea to obtain your Kauai camping permits prior to your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may secure your licenses online and also in person in the respective office.
If you opt to stay at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you may obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents must pay three dollars per night up-front. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks and also money orders. Nevertheless, it is not absolutely necessary to reserve your camping licenses before your arrival. You can also get them at the different permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
No matter if you decide to stay at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite some time to get your permits. You might get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on the island; in-person you will receive them immediately.
