Are your roof top tent campers kids friendly?

Yes! Please note that using our rooftop campers you will need to climb up one small ladder. If this is a problem, we provide an extra tent with each package which you can put up on the ground next to your camper vehicle. This can be more convenient for both you and your young children.

What is the maximum capacity of your camping vehicles?

We are able to accommodate 3 people maximum, although if there are more in your party, we do have an additional tent, as well. With this, we can easily accommodate up to 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.

What about surfboards?

Certainly, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins on request for a small fee. Just inform us in advance if you would like to rent one, so we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.

Am I able to go to any beach for camping?

You can drive up to any beach, however, you should only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual procedure. We will give you a list of the best places to explore and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.

Are we allowed to camp in the wild or are we just able to visit designated camping sites? If so, what is the charge?

No, wild camping isn’t allowed on the island of Kauai. You should only go camping in specific locations with secured camping permits. The associated fee is around $3 per night in most Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a bit more. One advantage of these campsites is that you have complete access to facilities, like showers, washrooms & picnic dining tables. Please keep in mind that if you decide to go camping on the county campsites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?

It is definitely a good idea to get your Kauai camping license before your journey. For most private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may secure your permits on the internet and also on-the-spot in the respective office.

If you opt to camp at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
