Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the minimum age to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with customers who are actually 25 years and above due to our insurance policy restrictions. But, depending on your circumstances, whenever possible, we always try to be accommodating.
If you are below 25 years, consider checking in with your insurance company to determine if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Would you be able to accommodate families with kids?
Of course! Please keep in mind that using our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb up a little ladder. If this is a problem, we also offer an additional tent with each of our packages which you can put up on the ground. This could be more comfortable for both you as well as your little ones.
What is the maximum capacity of your camping vehicles?
Our roof top tent camper trucks sleep 3 people maximum, though in case there are more in your group, we do offer an additional camping tent, as well. With this, we are able to fit up to five individuals. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Do you have surfboards?
Yes, we provide surfboards and boogie boards and also fins on request for a fee. Just inform us up-front if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or perhaps a map with the nicest locations to check out on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to visit & camp out on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to head to any beach for camping?
You could drive up to any beach, however, you can only put up your camp in designated camping sites. This is the typical practice here on Kauai. We will give you a list of the ideal locations to explore and also to camp in. Please remember that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we just able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You should only camp in specified areas with secured camping permits. The associated fee is about $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private camp sites could be a little more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you will have full access to facilities, such as showers, restrooms and picnic tables. Please note that if you choose to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.
Can you suggest any Kauai camp sites where we can set up the roof top tent?

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping license before your trip. For the majority of private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your licenses on the internet and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you opt to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you can ask for permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents have to pay three dollars per night up-front. Payment methods accepted with this application are money orders and cashier’s checks. Nevertheless, you don’t have to book your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You could also get them at the designated permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
No matter if you decide to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to go to a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to receive your permits. Permits can be obtained at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are given on the spot.
