FAQs
What’s the minimum age for renting from you?
We would rather like to work with customers who are actually 25 years and older due to our insurance coverage restrictions. Having said that, depending on your situation, whenever we can, we try to be flexible.
In case you are below twenty-five, consider checking in with your insurer to see if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tent camping trucks family friendly?
Of course! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb up a little ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we provide an additional camping tent with every package which you can easily put up on the ground. This can be more convenient for you and your young ones.
What is the maximum capacity of your trucks?
We could accommodate three people at most, though if there are more in your party, we do provide an extra tent, as well. With this, we can easily fit about 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
Are you offering surfboards?
Yes, we provide surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a fee. Just inform us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a guide book or even a map with the greatest locations to check out on Kauai?
Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to check out & camp out on Kauai.
Top Spots For Camping Out On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I visit any beach front for camping?
You could drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. This is the standard practice here on Kauai. We’ll give you a list of the ideal places to check out and to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or can we just visit official camping grounds? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted on the island of Kauai. You should only camp in specific areas with a valid camping permit. The charge is around $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, though private camp sites may be a bit more. One advantage of these camping grounds is that you will have complete access to amenities, like showers, restrooms & picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you opt to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to organize your Kauai camping permits before your arrival. For the majority of private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your licenses online and also in person in the designated office.
If you choose to camp at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents need to pay three dollars per night beforehand. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are cashier’s checks and money orders. Nevertheless, you don’t have to book your camping permits before your planned arrival. You can also obtain them at the designated permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
How long will it take to get the camping permits?
If you decide to go to a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite some time to receive your permits. Permits can be bought at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued on-the-spot.
