FAQs
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with customers who are twenty-five years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. On the other hand, depending on your circumstances, whenever possible, we always strive to be accommodating.
If you are younger than twenty-five, try checking with your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your rooftop tents kids friendly?
Yes! Please note that using our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we provide an extra camping tent with each package which you can set up on the ground next to the camping vehicle. This can be more convenient for you and your little ones.
What is the max. capacity of your camper trucks?
We could fit three people maximum, although if there are more in your group, we do have an extra tent, as well. With this, we are able to fit as much as five individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Certainly, our company offers surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Simply tell us beforehand if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or a map with the nicest places to visit on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to see & camp out on Kauai.
Best Locations For Camping On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to go to any beach front to camp?
You could go to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard procedure. We will supply you with a list of the best locations to visit and also to camp in. Please remember that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or can we only visit official camping sites? If so, what is the fee?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed on the island of Kauai. You may only camp in designated areas with a valid camping permit. The fee is about $3 per night stay in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private camp sites could be a little more. One particular advantage of these campsites is that you will have full access to facilities, such as showers, restrooms and picnic dining tables. Please note that if you choose to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.
Can you recommend any Kauai camping sites where I can set up the roof top tent?

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It’s a good idea to get your Kauai camping license before your arrival. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your licenses online and also in person in the designated office.
If you opt to stay at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents need to pay 3 dollars per night in advance. Accepted payment methods with this particular application are bank checks and money orders. But you don’t necessarily have to book your camping permits before your arrival. You may also get them at the various permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
How long will it take to obtain the camping permits?
No matter whether you choose to camp at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to go to a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to obtain your permits. You might receive your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on the island; in-person you will receive them right away.
