Here are Some Commonly Asked Questions
Are there any age restrictions to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with customers who are twenty-five years and above because of our insurance policy restrictions. However, depending on your circumstances, whenever possible, we always strive to be flexible.
If you are below 25 years, try contacting your insurance provider to find out whether you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Are your roof top tents kids friendly?
Absolutely! Please note that using our rooftop campers you will need to climb up a small ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we provide an extra tent with each of our packages which you could set up on the ground. This can be much more comfortable for you and also your young ones.
How many individuals can your camper vehicles accommodate?
We can fit three individuals at most, although if there are more in your party, we do offer an extra camping tent, too. With this, we can easily fit as much as 5 individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
Can you provide surfboards?
Yes, our company offers both surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a fee. Simply tell us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guide book or perhaps a map with the greatest places to explore on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to visit and go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Details About Camping Permits
Can I visit any beach front to camp?
You may go to any beach, but you can only set up your camp in official camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual procedure. We’ll provide you with a list of the greatest locations to check out and to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or can we only visit designated camping grounds? If so, what is the cost?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You can only camp in specified locations with secured camping permits. The associated fee is approximately $3 per night in many Kauai county parks, though private camping grounds could be a bit more. One advantage of these campsites is that you have total access to facilities, such as bathrooms, showers and picnic tables. Please be aware that if you opt to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to get your Kauai camping permits before your arrival. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits on the internet and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you decide to camp at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents must pay three dollars per night in advance. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders & cashier’s checks. But it’s not absolutely necessary to reserve your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You could also obtain them at the different permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
If you choose to stay at a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to receive your permits. You might choose to obtain your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them on the spot.

Our Happy Clients!
Exploring Kauai with a rooftop camper is a fun and unique way to explore this beautiful island! Our family of 4 spent 12 fabulous days exploring and camping. The extra tent with the rooftop provided plenty of space for us…we had an amazing time! All communication with Jonathan and Jamie was smooth and easy. They are lovely people who genuinely want to provide a great experience.
Jamie and Jonathan were excellent hosts! Even though they were on vacation, Jonathan made all accommodations very easy and helped us with every step. Note: if you are under 25, make sure to let them know to make sure you are covered by insurance! Jonathan helped us work it out and we had a great time
Los Angeles, CA
Jamie and Jonathan are by far the very best experience with Airbnb we have ever had. Truly generous human beings with big hearts. They provided wonderful suggestions, amenities, and a wonderful 5 star experience. We will certainly rent again. For our first experience in Hawaii, they made sure it was second to none. If you’re coming to Hawaii to truly experience nature and looking for a ‘no nonsense’ and easy process to explore the island the way it was meant to be, you could not attain better hosts.
We had such an amazing trip with Jamie’s camper! Jamie and Jonathan were both so kind and took their time to explain to us the ins and out of our camper. Communication was easy and the beaches they recommend we visit were like paradise! Will rent again from them when we come back for sure!
The BEST way to experience the beautiful garden island! Not only a great service–transportation doubling as your lodging–but wonderful and warm hosts. Jonathan and Jamie were so kind and helpful. An absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai–thank you both!
