We would rather like to do business with customers who are 25 years and older due to our insurance policy restrictions. But, based on your circumstances, whenever possible, we always strive to be accommodating.
In case you are younger than 25 years, try checking with your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Would you be able to accommodate adults with kids?

What is the maximum capacity of your vehicles?
We can fit three people maximum, although in case there are more within your party, we do offer an additional tent, too. With this, we can easily fit as much as 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Certainly, Kauai Rooftop Campers offers surfboards & boogie boards and also fins on request for a fee. Just tell us up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.

Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to check out and go camping on Kauai.
Greatest Spots For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You can go to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard procedure. We’ll provide you with a list of the greatest locations to check out and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or can we only go to designated camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You may only camp in designated locations with a current camping permit. The fee is around $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a bit more. One advantage of these campgrounds is that you have total access to amenities, such as restrooms, showers and picnic kitchen tables. Please note that if you opt to camp on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is a good idea to get your Kauai camping license prior to your arrival. For the majority of private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits on the internet and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you choose to stay at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Up-front, the costs are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this application are bank checks as well as money orders. Nevertheless, it is not necessary to reserve your camping licenses prior to your arrival. You can also obtain them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
If you choose to go to a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to receive your permits. You may opt to get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them immediately.
