What’s the minimum age for renting from you?

We would rather like to work with clients who are actually twenty-five years and older because of our insurance coverage restrictions. But, depending on your situation, whenever we can, we always try to be flexible.

If you are below twenty-five, consider checking in with your insurance provider to see if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.

Are your roof top tent camper trucks family friendly?

Of course! Please note that with our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we provide an extra camping tent with every package which you may set up on the ground. This may be much more comfortable for you and also your kids.

What is the maximum capacity of your vehicles?

We are able to accommodate three people maximum, though if there are more within your group, we do provide an extra camping tent, too. With this, we are able to allow for up to 5 individuals. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.

What about surfboards?

Yes, our company offers surfboards & boogie boards and fins on request for a fee. Simply tell us up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.

Am I able to go to any beach front for camping?

You may drive up to any beach, but you should only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard procedure. We will supply you with a list of the best places to check out and to camp in. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.

Is “wild camping” permitted or are we just able to go to official camping sites? If so, how much is the charge?

No, wild camping is not permitted in Kauai. You can only camp in specified locations with secured camping permits. The charge is approximately $3 per night in many Kauai county parks, though private camp sites could be a little more. One particular advantage of these campsites is that you will have complete access to facilities, like bathrooms, showers and picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you decide to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?

It is a better to get your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you can get your licenses online and also in person in the designated office.

If you opt to stay at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
