Is there a minimum age to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with clients who are actually twenty-five years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. But, depending on your situation, whenever possible, we strive to be accommodating.
If you are below twenty-five, try contacting your insurer to find out whether you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your roof top tent campers kids friendly?
Indeed! Please note that with our rooftop campers you will need to climb a little ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we provide an extra tent with each of our packages which you may put up on the ground beside your camper truck. This could be much more comfortable for you and also your kids.
What is the max. capacity of your trucks?
The roof top tent camping trucks sleep 3 individuals maximum, although if there are more within your party, we do provide an additional camping tent, as well. With this, we can easily allow for about five people. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Can you provide surfboards?
Yes, we offer both surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins on request for a fee. Simply let us know in advance if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a travel guide or perhaps a map with the best beaches and hiking trails to visit on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to see & go camping on Kauai.
Top Spots For Camping On Kauai & Information Regarding Camping Permits
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You could drive up to any beach, but you can only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. Here on Kauai, this is the standard practice. We will give you a list of the greatest places to visit and to go camping. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we just able to visit official camping sites? If so, how much is the fee?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You should only go camping in specific locations with a valid camping permit. The associated fee is about $3 per night in many Kauai county parks, but private camp sites may be a little more. One particular advantage of these campsites is that you will have full access to amenities, including restrooms, showers & picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you choose to camp on the county campsites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It’s a good idea to organize your Kauai camping license before your arrival. For most private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can get your licenses online and also in person in the respective office.
If you decide to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents must pay 3 dollars per night in advance. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks and also money orders. But you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping permits before your planned arrival. You could also get them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.
How much time will it take to obtain the camping permits?
Whether you choose to camp at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to receive your permits. Permits can be obtained at the permit offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are issued on-the-spot.

Our Happy Clients!
Exploring Kauai with a rooftop camper is a fun and unique way to explore this beautiful island! Our family of 4 spent 12 fabulous days exploring and camping. The extra tent with the rooftop provided plenty of space for us…we had an amazing time! All communication with Jonathan and Jamie was smooth and easy. They are lovely people who genuinely want to provide a great experience.
Jamie and Jonathan were excellent hosts! Even though they were on vacation, Jonathan made all accommodations very easy and helped us with every step. Note: if you are under 25, make sure to let them know to make sure you are covered by insurance! Jonathan helped us work it out and we had a great time
Los Angeles, CA
Jamie and Jonathan are by far the very best experience with Airbnb we have ever had. Truly generous human beings with big hearts. They provided wonderful suggestions, amenities, and a wonderful 5 star experience. We will certainly rent again. For our first experience in Hawaii, they made sure it was second to none. If you’re coming to Hawaii to truly experience nature and looking for a ‘no nonsense’ and easy process to explore the island the way it was meant to be, you could not attain better hosts.
We had such an amazing trip with Jamie’s camper! Jamie and Jonathan were both so kind and took their time to explain to us the ins and out of our camper. Communication was easy and the beaches they recommend we visit were like paradise! Will rent again from them when we come back for sure!
The BEST way to experience the beautiful garden island! Not only a great service–transportation doubling as your lodging–but wonderful and warm hosts. Jonathan and Jamie were so kind and helpful. An absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai–thank you both!
