Our camping trucks sleep 3 individuals maximum, though if there are more in your party, we do have an additional camping tent, as well. With this, we can easily allow for as much as five individuals. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?

Kauai Camping Guide & Specifics About Camping Permits
Can I go to any beach front to camp?
You may drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you can only put up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard practice. We’ll provide you with a list of the best locations to visit and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we just able to go to designated camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You can only camp in designated areas with secured camping permits. The charge is roughly $3 per night in most Kauai county parks, though private campgrounds could be a bit more. The good thing about these campgrounds is that you will have total access to amenities, like showers, restrooms and picnic tables. Please be aware that if you choose to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to organize your Kauai camping license prior to your arrival. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits online and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you opt to camp at a county campground and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
In advance, the charges are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are money orders and cashier’s checks. However, you don’t have to book your camping permits before your planned arrival. You could also get them at the designated permit offices on the island, which is usually easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
If you choose to stay at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to stay at a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it might take quite some time to receive your permits. You may opt to receive your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on the island; in-person you will receive them on the spot.
