Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with customers who are actually 25 years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. On the other hand, depending on your circumstances, whenever we can, we always try to be accommodating.
If you are below 25 years, try contacting your insurer to determine if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tents kids friendly?
Absolutely! Please note that with our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like an issue, we offer an additional tent with every package which you could put up on the ground next to the camper vehicle. This may be much more comfortable for both you and also your little ones.
What is the maximum capacity of your trucks?
The roof top tent camping vehicles fit 3 individuals maximum, although in case there are more within your party, we do offer an additional camping tent, too. With this, we can easily allow for up to five individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
Do you have surfboards?
Yes, our company offers surfboards & boogie boards and fins upon request for a small fee. Just let us know in advance if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guide book or perhaps a map with the greatest areas to check out on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to visit and camp out on Kauai.
Best Places For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Information About Camping Permits
Am I able to go to any beach front to camp?
You can drive up to any beach, however, you can only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the typical practice here on Kauai. We’ll supply you with a list of the greatest places to explore and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to visit official camping sites? If so, what is the charge?
No, wild camping is not allowed on the island of Kauai. You should only camp in designated areas with a current camping permit. The fee is approximately $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, but private camping grounds could be a bit more. One particular advantage of these camping grounds is that you have full access to facilities, such as restrooms, showers and picnic kitchen tables. Please note that if you opt to camp on the county campsites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to get your Kauai camping permits prior to your arrival. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your permits on the internet and also in person in the respective office.
If you opt to camp at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Up-front, the charges are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. But you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping permits prior to your arrival. You may also obtain them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
How much time does it take to get the camping permits?
If you choose to go to a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to receive your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are issued immediately.

Our Happy Clients!
Exploring Kauai with a rooftop camper is a fun and unique way to explore this beautiful island! Our family of 4 spent 12 fabulous days exploring and camping. The extra tent with the rooftop provided plenty of space for us…we had an amazing time! All communication with Jonathan and Jamie was smooth and easy. They are lovely people who genuinely want to provide a great experience.
Jamie and Jonathan were excellent hosts! Even though they were on vacation, Jonathan made all accommodations very easy and helped us with every step. Note: if you are under 25, make sure to let them know to make sure you are covered by insurance! Jonathan helped us work it out and we had a great time

Jamie and Jonathan are by far the very best experience with Airbnb we have ever had. Truly generous human beings with big hearts. They provided wonderful suggestions, amenities, and a wonderful 5 star experience. We will certainly rent again. For our first experience in Hawaii, they made sure it was second to none. If you’re coming to Hawaii to truly experience nature and looking for a ‘no nonsense’ and easy process to explore the island the way it was meant to be, you could not attain better hosts.
We had such an amazing trip with Jamie’s camper! Jamie and Jonathan were both so kind and took their time to explain to us the ins and out of our camper. Communication was easy and the beaches they recommend we visit were like paradise! Will rent again from them when we come back for sure!
The BEST way to experience the beautiful garden island! Not only a great service–transportation doubling as your lodging–but wonderful and warm hosts. Jonathan and Jamie were so kind and helpful. An absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai–thank you both!
