FAQs
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with clients who are 25 years and older due to our insurance coverage restrictions. But, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we always strive to be accommodating.
If you are younger than twenty-five, try checking with your insurance provider to find out if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are you able to accommodate families who have children?
Absolutely! Please note that using our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb a little ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we provide an extra tent with all of our packages which you can easily set up on the ground beside the camper vehicle. This could be more comfortable for you and your young children.
What is the max. capacity of your camping vehicles?
We can accommodate three individuals maximum, though in case there are more within your group, we do provide an extra camping tent, too. With this, we are able to accommodate about five people. Each of our vehicles has 5 seatbelts.
Can you provide surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards and also fins on request for a fee. Just inform us beforehand if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or even a map with the best areas to explore on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to check out & camp out on Kauai.
Perfect Locations For Camping On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to head to any beach front to camp?
You can drive up to any beach, but you should only put up your camp in official camping grounds. This is the typical practice here on Kauai. We will give you a list of the best locations to visit and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or can we only go to official camping grounds? If so, how much is the charge?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You may only camp in designated areas with secured camping permits. The fee is about $3 per night stay in most Kauai county parks, though private camping grounds may be a little more. The good thing about these campgrounds is that you will have total access to amenities, like showers, washrooms & picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you opt to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only permitted to set up the ground tent.

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping license before your arrival. For the majority of private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits online and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you choose to camp at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
In advance, the fees are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this application are money orders & cashier’s checks. But it is not necessary to reserve your camping permits prior to your planned arrival. You may also get them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
Whether you choose to stay at a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite a while to obtain your permits. You might choose to get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them right away.
