Here are Some Commonly Asked Questions
What’s the minimum age for renting from you?
We would rather like to do business with customers who are actually twenty-five years and above because of our insurance policy restrictions. But, based on your circumstances, whenever we can, we strive to be flexible.
In case you are below 25 years, try contacting your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your roof top tent campers kids friendly?
Indeed! Please note that using our rooftop campers you will need to climb a small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we provide an extra camping tent with each of our packages which you could set up on the ground next to the camper vehicle. This may be more comfortable for both you as well as your young ones.
How many individuals can your camping trucks fit?
We are able to fit 3 people maximum, though if there are more within your group, we do offer an additional tent, too. With this, we can easily fit as much as 5 individuals. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Yes, we provide both surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Just tell us up-front if you want to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide or even a map with the greatest locations to check out on Kauai?
Yes, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to check out and camp out on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Information About Camping Permits
Am I able to visit any beach for camping?
You can go to any beach, but you should only put up your camp in official camping grounds. This is the typical practice here on Kauai. We will provide you with a list of the best locations to check out and to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to visit official camping grounds? If so, what is the fee?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted in Kauai. You may only camp in specific locations with secured camping permits. The charge is approximately $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, but private camping grounds may be a bit more. One particular advantage of these campgrounds is that you will have total access to amenities, such as showers, restrooms and picnic kitchen tables. Please note that if you opt to camp on the county campsites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you can get your permits online and also in person in the respective office.
If you decide to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you can obtain permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
In advance, the charges are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are money orders and cashier’s checks. But you don’t have to reserve your camping permits before your arrival. You can also obtain them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
How long will it take to obtain the camping permits?
If you choose to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to obtain your permits. You may choose to obtain your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the different permit offices on the island; in-person you will receive them immediately.
