Below are Some Commonly Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with clients who are actually twenty-five years and older because of our insurance policy restrictions. On the other hand, based upon your situation, whenever we can, we always try to be accommodating.
If you are below 25 years, try checking with your insurance provider to see if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then contact us.
Are your roof top tent campers family friendly?
Certainly! Please note that with our rooftop campers you will need to climb a little ladder. If this sounds like a problem, we also provide an extra tent with each package which you can put up on the ground. This may be more suitable for you and your young children.
How many individuals can your camper trucks fit?
We could fit 3 people at most, although in case there are more within your party, we do provide an extra tent, as well. With this, we can easily fit as much as 5 individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
Do you offer surfboards?
Absolutely yes, we offer both surfboards and boogie boards and also fins upon request for a fee. Simply tell us up-front if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we receive a travel guide or a map with the best beaches & hiking trails to check out on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to visit and go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You could drive up to any beach, but you should only put up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We’ll supply you with a list of the best places to explore and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to go to designated camping grounds? If so, how much does it cost?
No, wild camping is not allowed in Kauai. You can only camp in specified areas with secured camping permits. The associated fee is roughly $3 per night in many Kauai county parks, though private camp sites may be a little more. The good thing about these camping grounds is that you will have full access to amenities, such as showers, bathrooms and picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you opt to camp on the county campsites, you are only permitted to set up the ground tent.

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It is definitely a better to organize your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can get your licenses on the internet and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you choose to stay at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you may request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Non-residents have to pay three dollars per night up-front. Accepted payment methods with this application are cashier’s checks as well as money orders. However, you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You may also obtain them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.
How long will it take to get the camping permits?
If you decide to go to a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite some time to get your permits. You might choose to obtain your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the various permit offices on the island; in-person you will get them immediately.
