Below are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We try to do business with clients who are 25 years and above due to our insurance policy restrictions. Having said that, depending on your needs, whenever possible, we always try to be flexible.
If you are younger than 25 years, consider contacting your insurance provider to see if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Are your roof top tents family friendly?
Absolutely! Please note that using our rooftop campers you would need to climb a little ladder. If this is an issue, we provide an additional tent with every package which you can put up on the ground. This could be much more comfortable for you and also your kids.
How many people can your camping trucks fit?
Our camping vehicles sleep 3 individuals at most, though if there are more in your group, we do provide an extra tent, as well. With this, we are able to allow for up to 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Certainly, our company offers both surfboards & boogie boards as well as fins on request for a fee. Simply tell us in advance if you would like to rent one, so we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we receive a guide or even a map with the best areas to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best spots to see & camp out on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Details About Camping Permits
Am I able to go to any beach to camp?
You may drive up to any beach, however, you can only put up your camp in official camping grounds. Here on Kauai, this is the usual procedure. We’ll provide you with a list of the best locations to check out and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or are we only able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping is not permitted on the island of Kauai. You can only camp in specified areas with secured camping permits. The associated fee is approximately $3 per night in the majority of Kauai county parks, but private campsites may be a bit more. One particular advantage of these campgrounds is that you will have full access to facilities, such as restrooms, showers & picnic tables. Please keep in mind that if you decide to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.
What camping grounds do you recommend with the rooftop camping tent?

Do we need to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is definitely a good idea to get your Kauai camping permits before your journey. For the majority of private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you can secure your permits on the internet and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you choose to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you may ask for permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Up-front, the costs are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks and money orders. Nevertheless, it isn’t necessary to reserve your camping licenses prior to your arrival. You could also get them at the designated permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for obtaining camping permits?
No matter if you choose to stay at a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to camp at a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to receive your permits. Permits can be obtained at the permit offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued right away.

Our Happy Clients!
Exploring Kauai with a rooftop camper is a fun and unique way to explore this beautiful island! Our family of 4 spent 12 fabulous days exploring and camping. The extra tent with the rooftop provided plenty of space for us…we had an amazing time! All communication with Jonathan and Jamie was smooth and easy. They are lovely people who genuinely want to provide a great experience.
Jamie and Jonathan were excellent hosts! Even though they were on vacation, Jonathan made all accommodations very easy and helped us with every step. Note: if you are under 25, make sure to let them know to make sure you are covered by insurance! Jonathan helped us work it out and we had a great time

Jamie and Jonathan are by far the very best experience with Airbnb we have ever had. Truly generous human beings with big hearts. They provided wonderful suggestions, amenities, and a wonderful 5 star experience. We will certainly rent again. For our first experience in Hawaii, they made sure it was second to none. If you’re coming to Hawaii to truly experience nature and looking for a ‘no nonsense’ and easy process to explore the island the way it was meant to be, you could not attain better hosts.
We had such an amazing trip with Jamie’s camper! Jamie and Jonathan were both so kind and took their time to explain to us the ins and out of our camper. Communication was easy and the beaches they recommend we visit were like paradise! Will rent again from them when we come back for sure!
The BEST way to experience the beautiful garden island! Not only a great service–transportation doubling as your lodging–but wonderful and warm hosts. Jonathan and Jamie were so kind and helpful. An absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai–thank you both!
