Below are Some Commonly Asked Questions
Is there an age requirement to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with clients who are twenty-five years and above due to our insurance policy restrictions. But, depending on your situation, whenever possible, we strive to be accommodating.
In case you are below twenty-five, consider checking in with your insurance provider to see if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your roof top tents kids friendly?
Absolutely! Please keep in mind that with our rooftop camping vehicles you’ll have to climb up a small ladder. If this is a problem, we offer an extra camping tent with all of our packages which you can easily set up on the ground. This can be much more comfortable for you and also your kids.
How many people can your camper vehicles accommodate?
We are able to accommodate 3 people at most, though in case there are more within your group, we do have an additional tent, as well. With this, we are able to fit about five individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Yes, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards and fins on request for a fee. Simply let us know up-front if you would like to rent one, so we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or a map with the greatest beaches & hiking trails to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to check out & camp out on Kauai.
Ideal Locations For Camping On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You could drive up to any beach, nevertheless, you should only put up your camp in official camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the standard practice. We will provide you with a list of the ideal locations to visit and also to camp in. Please be aware that driving a vehicle on the beaches is not allowed on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we only able to visit official camping grounds? If so, what is the charge?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted in Kauai. You can only go camping in specified locations with a current camping permit. The fee is roughly $3 per night stay in the majority of Kauai county parks, but private campgrounds may be a bit more. One advantage of these campgrounds is that you have full access to facilities, such as showers, washrooms and picnic kitchen tables. Please remember that if you opt to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.
Can you recommend any Kauai camping sites where we can set up the roof top tent?

Before our arrival in Kauai, do we have to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to obtain your Kauai camping permits before your trip. For most private campgrounds, which we always recommend first, you may secure your permits online and also in person in the designated office.
If you decide to stay at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” webpage.
Up-front, the fees are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks as well as money orders. However, you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses before your planned arrival. You may also get them at the different permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
How much time does it take to get the camping permits?
No matter if you choose to stay at a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it might take quite some time to obtain your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are issued on the spot.
