Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum age to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with customers who are twenty-five years and above due to our insurance coverage restrictions. Having said that, depending on your situation, whenever possible, we always try to be flexible.
If you are below 25 years, consider checking in with your insurance provider to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Are your roof top tents family friendly?
Absolutely! Please keep in mind that using our rooftop camping vehicles you would need to climb a little ladder. If this is a problem, we offer an additional tent with each of our packages which you may set up on the ground beside the camping vehicle. This may be much more comfortable for you and your kids.
How many individuals can your camping trucks accommodate?
We can accommodate 3 individuals at most, though in case there are more in your group, we do provide an extra camping tent, as well. With this, we are able to accommodate up to 5 individuals. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Yes, we offer surfboards and boogie boards and also fins upon request for a small fee. Just inform us in advance if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide book or a map with the nicest places to explore on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to check out & go camping on Kauai.
Kauai Camping Guide & Information Regarding Camping Permits
Am I able to go to any beach for camping?
You could go to any beach, nevertheless, you should only set up your camp in designated camping grounds. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the best places to explore and to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Are we permitted to camp in the wild or can we only go to designated camping grounds? If so, how much is the cost?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You should only camp in official areas with secured camping permits. The fee is approximately $3 per night in most Kauai county campgrounds, though private camping grounds may be a bit more. The good thing about these campgrounds is that you will have total access to facilities, like washrooms, showers and picnic tables. Please be aware that if you choose to go camping on the county campgrounds, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.
Can you recommend any Kauai camping sites where we can set up the roof top tent?

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a good idea to obtain your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For the majority of private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may get your licenses online and also on-the-spot in the designated office.
If you opt to stay at a county campsite and set up a ground tent, you can ask for permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
In advance, the charges are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this application are bank checks as well as money orders. But you don’t necessarily have to reserve your camping licenses prior to your planned arrival. You may also obtain them at the designated permit offices in Kauai, which is usually easier.
How long does it take to obtain the camping permits?
If you decide to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county campground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite a while to obtain your permits. Permits can be obtained at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are given right away.
