Every renter must have active auto insurance with liability and collision coverage. If your home policy doesn't cover rentals on Kauai, we offer add-on coverage so you travel with confidence.
Bring your own insurance
Most renters use their existing auto policy. Bring proof of full-comprehensive coverage (liability + collision) at check-in. No security deposit required.
Add-on coverage
Don't have coverage that extends to Kauai? Purchase our third-party partner insurance at check-in (ideally before). Security deposit is $1,000 — up to $2,000 for drivers under 25.
Driver requirements
We prefer all drivers to be 25+, but make case-by-case exceptions. Under-25 drivers with US or Canada coverage may be accommodated. Under-25 drivers from outside the US or Canada — contact us beforehand for options. All drivers need a valid license and a credit card in the primary driver's name.
Minimum rental
2-night minimum year-round. The free airport shuttle kicks in at 3+ nights. Most guests book 5–7 nights to fully explore the island.

Do your rates change seasonally?
Mostly no. Our fleet stays at a flat daily rate year-round, with one exception: rates are slightly higher from December 23 through January 2 to reflect peak holiday demand. The booking widget always shows the live rate for your exact dates — no decoding required.
What's really included in the price?
Rooftop tent and bedding, full camp kitchen, 56-quart cooler, beach and snorkel gear, extra ground tent, safety kit, Kauai guide book, unlimited miles, free airport shuttle, and 24/7 local support. Fuel and optional surfboards are the only things not included in the nightly rate.

What's your cleaning fee?
$135 flat, one-time per rental — regardless of whether you book 2 nights or 14. It covers full interior and gear sanitation, laundered linens, and a safety inspection before every handover. No mid-stay cleaning fees.
Do I need 4-wheel drive on Kauai?
You don't strictly need it, but you'll be glad to have it. The island's best campsites and overlooks — Polihale, Waimea Canyon backroads, remote Na Pali viewpoints — involve unpaved driving. Every vehicle in our fleet is 4x4.
Can I camp overnight at any beach?
Kauai has several legal overnight camping zones (Anini, Haena, Polihale, Salt Pond). We provide current permit info and a guide highlighting our favorite spots. Overnight parking outside designated zones isn't permitted.
