Here are Some Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any age limits to rent from you?
We would rather like to work with customers who are actually twenty-five years and older due to our insurance coverage restrictions. However, based upon your circumstances, whenever possible, we always strive to be flexible.
In case you are below 25 years, consider checking in with your insurance provider to see if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can call us.
Can you accommodate families who have children?
Yes! Please note that using our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb a little ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we also offer an extra tent with every package which you may put up on the ground. This may be much more comfortable for you and also your children.
How many people can your camping trucks accommodate?
Our camper trucks fit 3 people at most, although if there are more within your group, we do offer an extra camping tent, as well. With this, we can easily fit about 5 people. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
What about surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a small fee. Simply tell us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we receive a guide or a map with the best beaches & hiking trails to visit on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to visit & camp out on Kauai.
Best Locations For Camping Outdoors On Kauai & Information About Camping Permits
Can I head to any beach front for camping?
You may drive up to any beach, however, you can only put up your camp in official camping grounds. Here on Kauai, this is the standard practice. We will give you a list of the best locations to check out and also to go camping. Please be aware that driving on the beaches is not permitted on Kauai.
Are we allowed to camp in the wild or are we just able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much is the charge?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted in Kauai. You may only go camping in specific areas with a valid camping permit. The charge is about $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, but private camp sites may be a little more. The good thing about these campgrounds is that you have full access to facilities, such as showers, washrooms & picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you decide to camp on the county campgrounds, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It’s a better to organize your Kauai camping license prior to your journey. For most private camping grounds, which we always recommend first, you may secure your permits on the internet and also in person in the designated office.
If you decide to camp at a county campground and use a ground tent, you can ask for permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents have to pay 3 dollars per night up-front. Accepted payment methods with this particular application are money orders & cashier’s checks. However, it isn’t necessary to book your camping permits before your arrival. You could also obtain them at the various permit offices on the island, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
Whether you choose to go to a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. Please note that if you choose to stay at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to obtain your permits. You may opt to get your permits upon arrival to Kauai at the designated permit offices on Kauai; in-person you will get them right away.
