Below are Some Commonly Asked Questions
What’s the minimum age to rent from you?
We try to do business with clients who are actually 25 years and older because of our insurance policy restrictions. But, based on your needs, whenever we can, we try to be accommodating.
If you are younger than 25 years, consider checking in with your insurer to determine if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then call us.
Are your rooftop tents kids friendly?
Yes! Please note that using our rooftop campers you’ll have to climb up one small ladder. If this sounds like a concern, we offer an extra camping tent with all of our packages which you could set up on the ground beside the camping vehicle. This may be more suitable for both you as well as your young ones.
How many people can your camping trucks fit?
We can accommodate three people at most, though if there are more within your group, we do provide an extra tent, too. With this, we can easily allow for about five people. All of our trucks have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Absolutely yes, our company offers surfboards and boogie boards and also fins upon request for a fee. Simply let us know up-front if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a travel guide or a map with the nicest hiking trails & beaches to explore on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to check out and go camping on Kauai.
Perfect Spots For Camping Out On Kauai & Information About Camping Permits
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You could drive up to any beach, but you can only put up your camp in official camping grounds. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the top places to explore and also to camp in. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or are we only able to go to official camping grounds? If so, how much will it cost?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted on the island of Kauai. You should only go camping in official areas with a valid camping permit. The charge is approximately $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private camp sites may be a little more. The good thing about these campsites is that you will have complete access to amenities, such as restrooms, showers & picnic tables. Please remember that if you decide to camp on the county camp sites, you are only permitted to set up the ground tent.
Can you suggest any Kauai camp sites where we can set up the roof top tent?

Prior to our arrival in Kauai, do we need to get a Kauai camping permit?
It is a better to get your Kauai camping permits before your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may secure your licenses online and also on-the-spot in the respective office.
If you decide to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you may obtain permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” page.
Non-residents need to pay three dollars per night beforehand. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders and cashier’s checks. But you don’t have to book your camping permits prior to your planned arrival. You may also obtain them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
If you decide to go to a state or private campground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you choose to stay at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to get your permits. Permits can be obtained at the license offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are given on the spot.
