Can I go to any beach front for camping?

You may go to any beach, however, you can only put up your camp in designated camping sites. This is the usual practice here on Kauai. We will supply you with a list of the top locations to check out and to camp in. Please note that driving on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.

Are we permitted to camp in the wild or are we only able to go to official camping sites? If so, how much does it cost?

No, wild camping is not allowed on the island of Kauai. You may only go camping in designated areas with secured camping permits. The fee is around $3 per night stay in many Kauai county campgrounds, though private camping grounds could be a bit more. The good thing about these campsites is that you have complete access to amenities, such as showers, restrooms & picnic tables. Please note that if you decide to camp on the county campsites, you are only allowed to use the ground tent.
